How I Found My Path

I took a deep breath, tightened my pack straps one last time, and looked at my watch.

Feeling nervous about my late start of 3:25pm (darn bay area traffic), I knew I’d have to keep a pretty good pace to make it to camp by sunset. My destination for day 1 was Star Lake, just 9 miles away. If I really hoofed it, I could be there in 3-4 hours.

As I set off on the trail, I was met by a group of women who were out for a day hike. They quizzed me about my gear, shared high fives, and gave encouragement for hiking alone as a woman. Their love and support ushered in an even deeper level of confirmation (Girl Power!).

I knew I was right where I was meant to be.

Have you ever had an experience where you knew you felt this, love? You know the’s as if the sun, moon, and stars have aligned to bring you to the exact perfect moment.

This was what thru-hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail in September of 2016 felt like for me.

With each step on the trail, each Nalgene bottle filled from a running stream, and each night spent sleeping underneath the stars, I felt like the universe had conspired to bring me to the place where my soul most needed to be. A place where I could feel fully alive, connected, and like anything was possible. The place where I could see clearly again.

It was on this trip that I gained an enormous amount of clarity and returned home to make some of the biggest changes of my life

I discovered without a doubt that it was time to…

… live closer to nature,
….move out of the bay area,
… make a lifestyle change towards a slower pace, and
…create a home and invest in a community where we could see and be part of the growth.

On this trip I found my path and this year I want to help you to do the same.

Now, you may not want to move to Tahoe, live closer to nature, create a home, or live in a close-knit community, but there are changes and shifts that are calling you. There are transitions you are navigating, answers you are seeking, and dreams you want to bring to life.

If you are ready to do something bold and shift the trajectory of your life this year, then I’d love to invite you to join us in 2018 for a Quiet Adventure. Applications are now open!

It’s been such a fun process to put this year’s adventures together and I’m especially excited about the locations I’ve chosen! All three of this year’s adventures are on a section of two very special thru-hikes: the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT).

Each one of these places holds a lot of magic and transformation for me personally and I can’t wait to share them with you!
